Theauthorization for WIA programs expired on September 30, 2003, although annualappropriations have been continued funds for WIA through FY2005. On May 8, 2003,the House passed H.R. 1261. On November 14, 2003, the Senate amended an
4、d passed itsversion of H.R. 1261 after incorporating the text of S. 1627. No further action was taken.Both bills would have reauthorized the adult education and literacy programs and theRehabilitation Act of 1973.
