In the Senate, areauthorization bill (S. 1052) has been introduced that would set authorized amounts forav
3、iation security near current appropriated levels, but would increase funding formaritime and land security functions, which make up a relatively small component ofthe TSAs overall budget. In the House, a reauthorization bill has not yet beenintroduced, but a proposal to restructure the TSAs aviation
4、 security functions (H.R.4439) has been offered. Under the proposed restructuring plan, a performance-basedAviation Screening Organization (ASO) would be established within the TSA to carryout day-to-day federal screening operations.
