Number of Filings For the 12-month period ending December 31, 2020, the overall number of bankruptcy filings fell by 29.7% compared to the 12-month period ending December 31, 2019, that is, calendar year 2019declining from 774,940 in 2019 to 544,4
4、63 for 2020. Business bankruptcy filings declined by 4.9%, while nonbusiness filings declined by 30.5% (both types of filings are discussed below).
